Traditionally a Mint Julep is made with the 4 ingredients which are the mint, bourbon, sugar and club soda. In most Southern US states the preference is spearmint, especially in Kentucky. This drink is similar to the Mojito.
Muddling releases the essential oils of the mint, intensifying the flavor of the mint in this drink. These drinks are served traditionally in a Collins glass, tall old-fashioned glass, or a highball glass.
If you hold only by the bottom or very top of the glass this allows a frost to develop on the glass. Serve this drink with a straw. Enjoy!
