
Okay, so I grew up eating Banana Split Cake. Thank you Aunt Dee for sending me the recipe so I can share it. This is great for dessert for your family, when you have get-togethers, and I love it for Fourth of July.
Banana Split Cake

You are sure in for a treat with this Banana Split Cake recipe.
Ingredients:
- flour - 1 cup
- oleo margarine - 1 stick
- sugar - 2 tbsp
- chopped nuts - 1/4 cup
- eggs - 2
- powdered sugar - 2 cups
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- butter - 3/4 cup
- crushed pineapple - 20 oz can
- bananas - 4 medium sliced
- pecans or walnuts - 9 oz
- maraschino cherries - 1 -4 oz jar
Instructions:
Here is the crust: Mix 1 cup flour, 1 stick oleo (margarine), 2 tbsp sugar, and 1/4 cup chopped nuts. Mix with mixer and put in a 9 x 13 pan. The crust will be crummy. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 15 min.
Now for the cake: In a large bowl put in 2 eggs and beat them until light, add 2 cups powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, and 3/4 cup butter. Beat for 5 min and pour over crust. Put in fridge and chill for 30 minutes.
To assemble: spread the following ingredients, making layers. Take 1 -20 oz can crushed drained pineapple, on top of that place 4 medium sliced bananas, top that with 1 -9 oz container pecans or walnuts (chopped), place 1 -4 oz jar maraschino cherries on top of that. Now, here is where I deviate.....I drizzle chocolate over the top.
Chill in fridge 6-8 hours or overnight. Be prepared for yumminess!!!
